2 Day Dubai Itinerary
Two full days, split so you’re not crossing the city twice, with the skyline and Old Dubai on day one and the Marina and beach on day two.
Two days in Dubai is enough to properly do the Burj Khalifa and Old Dubai’s souks and still get out to the Marina and the beach. Here’s how I’d split it, day by day.
The Skyline & Old Dubai
Start at the Burj Khalifa for an early At the Top slot, then Dubai Mall and the Dubai Aquarium before the midday heat properly sets in. Head to Al Fahidi in the afternoon, Old Dubai’s historic quarter, the Dubai Museum, and the Gold and Spice Souks in Deira, crossing Dubai Creek by abra along the way.
End the day back in Downtown for the Dubai Fountain show, dinner with a view at Souk Al Bahar or one of the towers overlooking the lake, and a final walk along the water once the heat’s dropped off.
Afternoon Al Fahidi, the Dubai Museum, the Gold and Spice Souks
Evening The Dubai Fountain, dinner overlooking the lake
The Marina & Modern Dubai
Start at Dubai Marina, walk the promenade, then head to JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) for the beach and The Walk’s restaurants and shops. Palm Jumeirah is a short taxi away, worth the trip for the view from the Palm Tower’s observation deck or a walk out to The Pointe.
Spend the afternoon at the beach or a hotel pool if the heat allows, then head to the Burj Al Arab for photos at sunset, most visitors admire it from Jumeirah Beach or Umm Suqeim rather than paying for entry. End the trip with a dhow dinner cruise along the Marina or Dubai Creek, a relaxed, low-effort way to close out two full days.
Afternoon Palm Jumeirah, beach time
Evening Burj Al Arab at sunset, a dhow dinner cruise
Getting around across both days
The Dubai Metro’s Red Line covers Downtown, Old Dubai, and the Marina efficiently and cheaply, get a Nol card on arrival. Taxis are metered, safe, and reasonably priced for anywhere the metro doesn’t reach directly.
If you only have time for one thing each day
Day one, make it the Dubai Fountain, free, and the single best value spectacle on the whole itinerary. Day two, make it Dubai Marina at golden hour, the promenade and the skyline together give you the postcard version of the city without spending anything.
That’s everything I’ve got.
