2 Day Nashville Itinerary

Two full days, split so you’re not backtracking, with downtown on day one and the neighbourhoods on day two.

Two days in Nashville is enough to properly cover Broadway and the Hall of Fame, and still get out to the Parthenon and East Nashville for a proper taste of the neighbourhoods. Here’s how I’d split it, day by day.

Day 01

Downtown & Music History

Start at Broadway and Fort Nashborough, then the Country Music Hall of Fame for the morning. Grab hot chicken for lunch, then the Johnny Cash Museum and a stroll through the Gulch and across Shelby Street Bridge.

Finish the day at the Ryman Auditorium, then dinner and live music back on Broadway as the neon lights come alive.

Morning Broadway, Fort Nashborough, the Country Music Hall of Fame
Afternoon Hot chicken, the Johnny Cash Museum, the Gulch
Evening The Ryman Auditorium, dinner and live music on Broadway
“Book Country Music Hall of Fame tickets ahead, genuinely. It’s considerably bigger than it looks from outside, and walk-up queues can eat a proper chunk of your morning.”
Day 02

Neighbourhoods & Green Space

Spend the morning at the Parthenon in Centennial Park, a properly striking life-size replica of the original in Athens, built for the 1897 Centennial Exposition. The surrounding park makes for a proper stroll too, worth lingering if the weather’s good.

In the afternoon, head to East Nashville, a properly eclectic, artsy neighbourhood across the Cumberland River, street art, coffee shops and independent boutiques throughout. Consider a trip out to the Grand Ole Opry in the evening if a show lines up with your dates, a genuinely different, more traditional side of the city’s music scene.

Morning The Parthenon, Centennial Park
Afternoon East Nashville
Evening The Grand Ole Opry, if a show lines up

Getting around across both days

Downtown Nashville is genuinely walkable, most of day one’s sights sit within a comfortable stroll of each other. A rideshare or the Old Town Trolley is worth it for East Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry, both a proper distance from the core.

If you only have time for one thing each day

Day one, make it the Country Music Hall of Fame, genuinely the single best orientation to the city’s musical heart. Day two, make it East Nashville, a proper contrast to downtown’s polish and one of the most distinctive neighbourhoods in the city.

That’s everything I’ve got.
